Our AML and Verification Policy
We hold our licence from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, and that licence comes with obligations we take seriously. This page sets out, in plain terms, what we check, when we check it, and what we need from you at each stage of your time with us.
Our AML Commitment
Since our launch in 2024, Wonaco Casino has operated under a risk-based anti-money-laundering framework aligned with the requirements of the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. That framework covers three pillars: knowing who our players are, understanding where their funds come from, and reporting suspicious activity to the relevant authorities without tipping off the parties involved.
We apply customer due diligence at the points of highest risk, namely account opening, deposits and withdrawals. Where our risk assessment flags elevated concern, we escalate to enhanced due diligence, which means deeper identity checks and a documented review of your transaction history. These measures protect you as much as they protect us, because a verified account is far harder for criminals to misuse.
- Customer due diligence (CDD) at registration and at defined transaction thresholds
- Enhanced due diligence (EDD) for higher-risk accounts and patterns
- Suspicious activity reporting to the Curaçao Gaming Control Board
- Ongoing transaction monitoring across the full lifecycle of every account
- Sanctions and politically exposed person screening at onboarding
When We Verify Your Identity
Verification stages
Verification happens in stages rather than all at once. At registration we validate the basic details you give us, including your name, date of birth, address and contact information, against external data sources. Full document verification is triggered before your first withdrawal, because that is the moment funds leave our platform and we must confirm they are going to the right person.
We also run re-verification at defined thresholds, when documents expire, or when account behaviour changes in a way that warrants a fresh look. If you update your payment method, expect us to verify ownership of the new method before it can be used for withdrawals.
- Government-issued photo ID: passport, national ID card or driver licence, valid and legible on all four corners
- Proof of address: utility bill, bank statement or tenancy agreement issued within the last 3 months
- Payment method ownership: photo of the card with the middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name or address
- Additional documents on request, such as source of funds evidence for larger deposits
How Verification Works
Step by step
The process is deliberately simple so it does not hold up your withdrawals. Most players complete it once and never need to repeat it, provided their documents stay valid.
Standard checks are usually completed within 24 hours, and complex cases take up to 72 hours. You can track the status of each document in your account settings, and our live chat team, available 24/7, can tell you exactly where a review stands.
- Upload your documents through the secure verification portal in your account settings
- Our compliance team checks each document for validity, legibility and consistency with your registered details
- You receive an email and an in-account notification once each document is approved or if we need a clearer copy
- Approved documents are linked to your profile and do not need to be resubmitted until they expire
- Withdrawals are released automatically once all required checks are approved
How we protect your documents
Your documents are stored on encrypted servers with strict access controls. Only authorised members of our compliance team can view them, every access is logged, and we never share your verification data with third parties except where we are legally required to do so by the Curaçao Gaming Control Board or another competent authority. Originals are never sent by unsecured email, which is why all uploads must go through the verification portal.
Why We Ask About Funds
Source of funds evidence shows where the money you deposit actually came from, and we request it when your account activity suggests a level of spending that our risk model wants to understand better. This is not an accusation, it is a legal obligation, and the overwhelming majority of requests are resolved with one or two documents.
Typical triggers include cumulative deposits that significantly exceed what our limits and your profile would suggest, repeated large deposits shortly after account opening, or deposit patterns that change sharply without a matching change in play behaviour. Crypto deposits may attract earlier requests because they arrive without the bank-side context that card and bank transfer deposits carry.
- Payslips or an employment contract for salary income
- Bank or e-wallet statements showing regular income
- Tax returns or business accounts for self-employed players
- Sale contracts or settlement statements for property or asset sales
- Dividend, inheritance or investment statements for other income types
How We Monitor Transactions
Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated monitoring that screens for unusual volume, frequency and routing. Flagged transactions go to a human reviewer before funds are released or credits are applied. Our withdrawal rules are equally firm: we return funds through the same method used for the deposit wherever technically possible, and we never pay withdrawals to a card, wallet or account held in anyone else's name.
The minimum withdrawal is 30 AUD, and we do not charge fees on our side. Processing times run up to 24 hours for crypto and e-wallets, and 1 to 3 business days for cards and bank transfers once verification is complete.
| Limit type | Amount |
|---|---|
| Daily withdrawal limit | 800 AUD |
| Weekly withdrawal limit | 8,000 AUD |
| Monthly withdrawal limit | 24,000 AUD |
| Minimum withdrawal | 30 AUD |
| VIP tier exceptions | Higher limits from Bronze to Diamond, priority processing |
If Verification Fails
When documents are missing, expired or inconsistent with your registered details, we place a hold on withdrawals first and deposits second. Your deposited funds remain yours throughout, and any account balance is returned to a verified payment method in your own name once the issue is resolved. We always tell you which document failed and why, so you have a clear path to fixing it.
If we cannot verify your identity after reasonable attempts and reminders, or if our monitoring identifies activity we cannot lawfully clear, we may close the account. Serious cases are reported to the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, and in those situations we are prohibited from informing you that a report has been made. Deliberate document forgery or use of another person's identity results in immediate permanent closure and forfeiture of bonuses, with the account balance refunded to the legitimate owner where one can be established.
- Withdrawals placed on hold pending missing or invalid documents
- Repeated failed checks escalate to a full account suspension
- Funds are always returned to a verified method in your own name
- Suspected fraud or third-party account use leads to permanent closure
- You can appeal any decision through [email protected]
Storing Your Documents
We keep verification records for 5 years after your account is closed, because our licence obligations require us to reconstruct a player's activity on request from the regulator or from law enforcement with a lawful order. Retention periods for active accounts run continuously from your most recent transaction.
Once the retention window expires and no legal hold applies, your documents are permanently deleted from our systems. If you close your account and later reopen it, we will ask you to verify again, since the previous records will have been purged in line with this policy.
Frequently asked questions
Why was my withdrawal held for verification?
First withdrawals always trigger full document verification, and later withdrawals can trigger re-checks if a document has expired or your account activity changed. Once your documents are approved, funds are released automatically, with crypto and e-wallet payments arriving within 24 hours and card or bank payments within 1 to 3 business days.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
We return funds through the same method used for the deposit wherever technically possible, and the payment method must be in your own name. If you deposited by card, your withdrawal goes back to that card. If a method is unavailable for withdrawals, we will agree an alternative with you after verifying your ownership of it.
What happens if I refuse to provide source of funds documents?
Withdrawals remain on hold until the request is resolved. Your balance is not forfeited, but we cannot process payments from an account we are unable to clear under our licence obligations. Requests are usually satisfied with a single document, such as a payslip or bank statement.
Is my passport scan safe with you?
Yes. Documents are stored on encrypted servers, access is limited to authorised compliance staff, every access is logged, and we never email documents or share them with third parties except where a competent authority legally compels us to.
